bond
Syntax: cast 'force bond'
bond
The *Force Bond* spell creates a mystical connection between the caster
and the target, linking them in a way that transcends physical distance.
This bond allows the two individuals to communicate telepathically using
the *bond* command.
Usage Details:
- You must specify a target when casting. If the bond is to be severed,
you may cast it on yourself.
- The target must be another player character. NPCs cannot be bonded.
- You may only have one bond at a time.
- The bond must be reciprocated by the target to be complete.
- If a bond is one-sided, the caster may clear it by casting *Force Bond*
on themselves.
- A player already bonded cannot initiate a new bond.
- Attempting to bond with yourself is not possible.
- If the target is already bonded to another, the spell will fail.
Once bonded, players can communicate using:
- `bond ` — Sends a message directly to your bonded partner.
Example: `bond Are you okay?` sends "Are you okay?" to your bonded partner.
To remove a non-reciprocated bond:
- If your target does not return the bond, you may clear it by casting
*Force Bond* on yourself.
Limitations:
- If you or your target are immune to magic, the spell will fail.
- If there are issues with the database entry of either participant, the
spell will not work, and an immortal should be contacted.
Flavor Text:
When the bond is formed, an ethereal link manifests between the two,
allowing them to sense each other's presence even across great distances.
If the bond is not returned, it remains fragile, capable of being severed
at will.
